    Talking Child Tax credit

    Hi,
I am going through divorceicon at the moment, My partner an i have been separeted for four months now after a difficult marriage for almost 14 years. He refused to sign the divorce papers and completely refused to move out of the house. We have four children and I have tried to be financially independent in every way but the problem is the child tax credit. I don't know if i can qualify the fact that he still leave in the house. We have three properties between us and he wants all of it that its all his money. I have explained this to him that He can have the other two and let me have the one we live in and the children but he said he won't live until I give it all up. Alhough I have tried to detouch myself fom him finacially, can i still claim child tax credit when other two propertie are still in joint names? We have not settled anything and the only income I have now is one from the property which i said i will handover to give him because i need to keep the family going. I don't get any maintanance from him and he doesn't contributeicon anything anymore.

Can I still claim child tax credit as a single parent when my names are still on those properties. The income i'm getting from the other property is all I can declare for now.

you need to ring them and explain your situation if you are leading separate lives and don't consider yourselves a couple then you can make a single claim
