Default Breach of Data Protection Act

    Ok, advice needed.

My friend took his girlfriends car to a garage to get it fixed following an incident. Anyway, she went to pick it up today and the lads in the garage were all eyeing her up.

She took the car away and when she got home she had a text on her phone asking if she had a boyfriend and did she want to let this lad take her out. It was only one of the mechanics from the garage.

This is a definate breach of Data Protection and completely unprofessional. Only thing is, how does my mate go about getting something done about it, and compo?

I think he needs to write to the manager and give the number that was given on the text. The manager should take disciplinary action on the worker. Is it a small garage or national chain?
