Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Can anyone help. Edf sent us a bill just over a month ago for £1,970. They had been sending the usual bills that we have been paying. They are saying that we owe this amount because when they changed the meter over the figures had not been caculated properly. We were unaware that they changed the meter over. We have made numerous calls to edf requesting that they prove that we owe them this amount. They have ignored us and they sent a letter to us, a couple of days ago, saying that they have passed it on to a debt collection agency. I have just had 2 people at my door and i found myself hiding in my own home. i didn't answer the door as i was scared that they would start taking our household items.
This situation is not our fault and yet we are left spending hours trying to sort it out. Whilst edf are just demanding this money, that we feel we dont owe them.
