Default Free cream if your quick

Have just been into my local Tesco.
They have an offer on -if you by a pack of Tesco strawberries you get a free 150ml carton of single cream worth 40p.
I found some "Value" Strawberries 400g in the reduced cabinet down from £1.69 to 40p.
I then went to buy some cream and saw the shelf edge ticket advertising the free cream.
Theres no distinguishing between which strawberries this offer applies to-it simply says free cream with Strawberry pack.
On going through self scan I looked at my receipt and saw that it had not given the discount-and so I went to customer services citing the unfair consumer trading regulations-it looked deceptive to me and my purchase was influenced by the promotion whichgave no indication that the offer does not apply to ALL packs of strawberries...or indeed any particular packs.
I was promptly given double the difference of the cream-80p and the cream to keep.
So effectively the Strawberries AND the cream cost me nothing.
Luckily the CSA was a new girl-usually they hide when I go near their desk
    Wonder why ?

Now I know that you will say that you should get the cream free anyway-but these are with the dearer ones.
Plus if you go for the value ones-you get the cream free-plus they give you 40p !!!

    Yep indeed.
I reckon a few quid.....probably more than the average MPs expenses claim

This year theyve been snowed under with Ukranians and Sharopova fans......The Russians are not particularly interested in Strawberries and cream-unless theres some Vodka to wash them down with.

yes maybe the sign says 454g at the Strawberry shelves-but I did not see it at the dairy cabinet-it should be highlighted there AS WELL AS the Strawberry shelves.

Yup, passed Tesco earlier and the Street Banner has 454g on also.

Guess you can mark that one up to payback. Every Little Counts

Although they DO act very quickly to correct any mistakes-the possibility of an email to other stores would be a piece of cake-I am sure these are done on a daily basis-in fact I remember one Tesco staff member saying that staff who discover mistakes get some kind of bonus for bringing it to managements attention-which is not hard to understand.

My store had no such banners outside-and even if there were -there is access to the main store from any points of the car park or main road-so its not conclusive all would see.

Anyway I am happy to say that the strawberries went down well with the cream-but 150ml is not enough for 400g or 454g-at least I dont think it is.

They could at least have made it 250g and left us with some over for a coffee !!!

I've just been to my local Tesco. Saw the offer:

So put the strawberries in the trolley and then went to the dairy section. No sign to suggest that there was a particular cream on offer, so picked a 125ml tub of double cream at 50p.

At the checkout, I noted that I didn't get the cream free, so off to Customer Services. If I say that the girl there was ignorant, I am being charitable. She told me that the offer was for single cream only, so I asked her to show me where this was made clear. "Over there" she said, pointing to an aisle end display which had a two cartons of single cream with a 'free with strawberries sign'. The aisle was at the opposite end and three aisles away from the strawberries, and the other end of the shop to the dairy products. She gave me a tub of single cream and refunded the double cream. I wasn't happy, but she looked like a sow whose litter I had just eaten, so I didn't press it. Very misleading, in my view, and since I am at leisure at the moment I shall fire off a stiff email to Tesco HQ.

They are not quick if ever to respond to emails.
A few weeks ago I saw some bottles of Gaymers cider (the small ones) with cardboard neck tabs offering "try me and if you dont like-get your money back"
I bought 4 and when I got home to look at the terms and conditionsicon-I saw that the deadline for apps had expired 6 months prev.
It was impossible to see this unless you ripped the sleeve off since it was underneath on inside.
I sent email to Tesco complaining that I considered this deceptive practices.
I heard nothing back but when I was in store a couple of days later-saw that they had removed all the promo neck labels !!!

Pity I was in there tonight as well and they had packs with short date again reduced to 80p.
Should have got one and the single cream.
With the double the difference on the 40p cream I would have gotten both for 40p.
