Thread: ISA Credit Check

Hi

Is it normal for a bank to perform a credit check on an ISA application? After all it is a savings account and no credit facilty is involved.

I can understand an identity check but to perform a credit check on a savings account?

Maybe an Id/address check - they have anti money laundering responsibilities

It's probably their easiest way of verifying data. They wouldn't neccessaarily have got any other information.

(I think this is the first time that I have said anything that might justify any bank's or CRA's actions - It hurt)
