Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have a default showing on my Equifax credit report.
This is from Egg and I made arranged payments with them back in Nov 2003 and this is the SAME date they chose to issue the default - thought I don't have any notice of that in my paperwork. There is a remaining balance of £2998
I have never missed a payment with them. I was told that because this debt will be 6 years old this November, that the Default will no longer show on the report - is this true?
If the Default is not removed, do I have to first clear the debt in order to begin the process of having it removed from my report?
Unfortunately, it WAS sold to some scumbag - Moorcroft debt to be accurate as Egg no longer exist.
I know I still need to pay it, I'm just desperate to get it removed as it's already cost me a job.
Even though I already work handling customer accounts and have access to payment records, I applied for a new job who ran a credit check on me - this default is the ONLY bad thing showing so it must have been this.
And yes, I did have a clear record on my Disclosure Scotland!
