Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
can someone help i have a bt line for the past 10 years no problems i had broadband installed last week and from the moment it was started my phone line dose not work after numerous phone calls texts emails ect
bt refuse to cancle the broadband as its been activated/put on the line but i say that its not becuase to me activation mean i can use it but i cant i never have used it its not working they want to send out an engineer but they will charge me £115 if its a fault and its my fault but my phone worked perfectly for the past 10 years untill they activated broadband and now the line is faulty
they refuse to cancle it unless i pay the penalty charges for a new contract which i think is unfair as its not as far as im concerned
You need to find out where the problem is. The problems you have may or may not be related, but if you've done nothing since ADSL was put on your line, you'll be safe enough in calling BT faults as it could be a configuration issue at the exchange or regional centre supplying your services, NONE of which you have responsability for.
ONLY when the line is faulty AFTER your BT Master socket can you be made to pay for the call-out (or where your action upstream, caused the problem) say, chopping through the dropwire by mistake...
