    We sent off our SARicon earlier this year, we got all the information we requested and a boat load of screen grabs with jargon on which I managed to understand as I previously worked for VM in Customer Services.

    I'm just in process of going after them for what they owe me, does anyone have the email address for the Chief Exec Office as I don't want to deal with the monkeys I've already dealt with them and got no where, I want to deal with the guys wearing the suits and tell them my intentions if they don't pay.

    Yes the info that you need is in the contact info threads in the stickies.

    Just another point-Data controllers have a requirement to interpret anything that is unintelligible-so abbreviated references or codes should be supported by explanatory notes.
    They can block out other named individuals to give them protection ie customer service advisors.

    Mr Berkett is very much hands on and has shown to be very good at what he does.

    Strange-they usually use Moorcroft.
    There should be notes on your account at VM to show that its being queried.
    It may be that Wescot have not been kept up to date by VM.
    Either way you need to put letters in writing to both VM collections department and Wecot,and send recorded delivery keeping copies.
    By dealing on the phone you have no records to show later.

    The letters need not be complicated.
    There are "Account in dispute " letters in the temps library on the site here.

    Yes problem is with telephone is that you have no proof.
    Virgin prefer to deal in this way since they are a bit shy when it comes to putting anything in writing.

    If statute barredicon, it means it is unenforceable for them to take you to court and attempt recovery, but it doesn't stop them begging for it, unfortunately!

    Maybe you should ask VM when they sold this debt,and ask why you was not told.VM are as much a party to righting any errors that has resulted in you being chased by a debt collectoricon.
    I would certainly have VM on the carpet for this,if there is no debt as you say.
    A complaint with the ICO is a must,but first of all they will want to see any responses in writing and what efforts have been made to put things right.
    For this I would send a preliminary letter to VM Legal affairs,demanding an explanation in writing before you escalate this to both the ICO and fosicon.
    In the case of Wescot,I would demand to see any documents they can produce,in relation to this debt which clearly demonstrates that this is a valid and legitimate one.
    Tell them that you are disputing it with VM and state that you will only deal in writing.
    Give them 14 days to respond to you to acknowledge that the account will be looked into and that any further demands for collection will cease.

    In the absence of this you need to inform them that you will be making formal complaints to the ICO the FOS and your local trading standards.
    Which I would be doing anyway one you have enough to provide to each of those.
