Hi, had sky installed in mid-May and it's been pretty poor since being installed, especialy when recording. Rang Sky support who told me to plug in and unplug everything...... this didnt fix the problem so have had an Engineers visit today.
Apparently the problem is with the communal satellite feed, (I live in an apartment block) so I was told to phone the company that owns the building. I've done this and discoverd that although I have the two Sky aerial sockets required for Sky+, only one has a signal, the other is just a blank socket, never has been Sky+ compatible, and they have no plans to make it so.
I'm pretty mad at the minute as I paid £49 to have this installes and £50 for the Engineers visit today, as well as my Sky+ subscription. Sky dont want to know, I'm very very annoyed and dont want to know. Any help please, am prett desperate.
Unfortunaley it is out of sky hands as the install is reliant on your communial connection.
If you got your equipment from an installer and they set it up they should really have tested the sockets and fault should lie with them as they should have advised of what options you had.
