Hey All! I was hoping someone could help with Blackhorse PPI claim. As well as a complaint about the main loan, I told them I was missold PPI as I was told that I couldn't have the loan without the PPI. I advised them I had no need of PPI at the time as I had a secure job. They have basically told me I was a liar but if I provide evidence of the fact that my job was secure, they will look at it again. They very smugly advised me that the fos would not help me as my loan was taken before Jan 05 but advised that the FLA would hear my complaint but everything i've read seems to say that the FLA are useless!! What does everyone think? They also said that as a goodwill gesture, I could cancel my PPI as a discounted rebate rate. Just very angry and upset at this! My main complaint is that because I have taken advantage of the payment break facility of the loan, they have extended my agreement by a year and are charing an additional 1k interest!!!!! Thanks guys Irish

I will post up my usual response to initial posts on the PPI. It gives you a bit of work to do in the field of research into the subject of PPI and reclaiming there is a mass of information available in the stickies and on other threads. Best to read up and prepare before action. It could be a long road.
THIS LINK IS IMPORTANT TO YOU ON RECLAIMING IT IS FROM 2001 FROM THE FOS loan payment protection insurance and a quote from this link...
When determining whether a policy is suitable, a seller – whether a lender or an agent for the insurer – must obviously take into consideration any information the prospective policyholder volunteers. However, we do not consider the seller’s duty is limited simply to recording what the borrower discloses. It is only by asking questions that the seller can properly determine suitability. These questions cannot cover every aspect of a borrower’s personal position and should not be expected to do so. To paraphrase the ABI Statement, only those matters deemed to be relevant by the insurer should be the subject of questions.
Gather the information. make them do some work for the £10 Statutory fee which you have to send with your SAR.
I hope this gets you started

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
