Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Couple of years ago now i had a nasty road traffic accident and have been on Incapacity Benefit.
January this year i went to a medical and not long after the DWP contacted me as i did not have enough points to continue to receive IB.
So benefits ceased.
At the time i decided to appeal.
I also had no form of income and still not well enough to goto work, and im still signed off by my doctor but i managed to get Income Support after making an complaint.
As a month passed and i felt a little better, i want to get back on my feet slowly. So i stopped the appeal as i was thinking about some voluntary work to get me back into the swing of things this coming summer.
As soon as i stopped the appeal, the DWP told me that i was now no longer entitled to Income Support and it has ceased.
I then had to make a new claim but for the new Employment and Support Allowance which was successful.
The DWP now tell me that i have to repay back what i received while on the time of Income Support which is nearly three months.
If i would of known, i would of back dated my claim but again how could i if i was already in receipt of Income Support?
Im now looking at paying back Housing Benefit as well ontop of this.
After lenghly telephone conversations with the DWP, they tell me that there is nothing i can do, yet i am in receipt of a medical certificate ever since.
Can anyone advise or point me in the right direction?
