Frist off I must say amazing website here, lots of info on how to deal with PPIicon claims and more So thanks to all the folks who are helping.

I am just about to issue a claim regarding my credit card.

    Start date: 23/07/07
    Amount: 2074.54 outstanding
PPI payments currently: £17.12pm (I have been told its x amount per £100 on the balance so this payment has changed as i have used my card)

I am about to sent a letter (provided by this site, cheers) to A&L as i believe I was mis-sold the PPI since i am a contract worker and even if i was to claim i dont think i would be able to.

I called A&L up for some information and they told me that the PPI is with a seperate comapny so they were unable to provide policy number and how much i had paid for the last 2 years.

So I am posting this for some advice on what to do next, the woman on the phone told me to send a letter into their complaints department and they will take it from there but I am unsure of who to speak to.

Please any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Cheers

    Quote:
When determining whether a policy is suitable, a seller – whether a lender or an agent for the insurer – must obviously take into consideration any information the prospective policyholder volunteers. However, we do not consider the seller’s duty is limited simply to recording what the borrower discloses. It is only by asking questions that the seller can properly determine suitability. These questions cannot cover every aspect of a borrower’s personal position and should not be expected to do so. To paraphrase the ABI Statement, only those matters deemed to be relevant by the insurer should be the subject of questions.
