    Default Halifax Home Insurance.....HELP!!!

Hello everyone, newbie here so please forgive me if i post in the wrong section. Basically my house was burguled on the 4th of May this year. I phoned Halifaxicon immediately but to this day they have not accepted liability yet??? They have sent a claims advisor and a loss adjustor so far but when i call them to ask progress, they tell me they cannot do anything as the claim is now being handled by Crawfords loss adjusters and they have not accepted laibility yet.
The claim itself is for both buildings and contents as the bastards who broke in came via the conseravtory french doors which they smashed and then smashed the patio door leading to the lounge.
I know the claims adjustor was unhappy about my claims list especially the price of my TV HOME CINEMA SET which cost over £3000 and was demanding for receipts of this which i dont have but have several pictures off.
I need to know if they are taking the ****, at least they should have accepted liability by now or is this normal?? I am concerned as i have a child (8 months old) who now cannot crawl on the carpet due to the amount of fine grains of glass that cannot come out. The loss adjustor upon his visit around 14th May promised to appoint a cleaning company to sort out the carpet but whne i rang Halifax they told me this was wrong as they have not accepted liabilty. How long is this likely to take my home is still boarded up and nothing replaced this is very frustrating for me and my family....PLEASE HELP

The Loss Adjuster would have been appointed by Halifaxicon to assess and quantify the claim, they will then submit a report to Halifax for payment once all their investigations have been finalised.

Therefore your first port of call should be Crawfords as until Halifax have received their report they will not know whats going on.

As the adjusters tend to handle their own claims and are often out on the road your better off pestering them with daily phone callsicon until you get a sufficient response from them.

They should be able to authorise or appoint a contractor for any emergency repairs required as this limits the insurers to any further losses.

Thanks for the info, telephoned today and i was told that they are waiting on their accounts Dept to write a cheque to the Police for the Police report. Apparently this takes upto 40 working days which is another 8 weeks or so. So i have to wait another 2 months before i know whether Halifax will accept liability.... Is this lawful??? Anyone please
