Hope someone can help. I am due to close my retail business at the end of this month. I have recently found out that since being in the property over the last 12 months I have been paying electricity for a neighbouring sunbed shop which is also owned by the same landlord. The shop in which I have been paying electricity for has no electricity meter in which the landlord is aware.
On me vacating the property at the end of the month I would like some advise on my rights regarding the electric I have paid. Citizens advice informed me that this is the responsibility of the landlord. I sent the landlord copies of the electricity bills and keep getting told that he is sorting this out. Is there anyone who can give me any further advise regarding this, this would be much apprciated.
Welcome to the site-will move your thread.
Did your agreement with the landlord say that you were responsible for paying electricity charges separately ?
Who were the bills sent to -was the account in your name or the landlords ?
It seems very strange that you were not told of this-so presumably next door are aware-whats the arrangements in place for them as regards paying for electricity ?
As we know sunbeds use a lot !!
