Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I stupidly forgot to make my monthly payment to RBS last month, so it arrived a couple of days late. I got a LATE PAYMENT FEE (£12) which pushed me over my limit and so also got an OVERLIMIT FEE (£12).
I phoned RBS and asked if they would refund the fees as I have never missed a payment before and they said they could only refund one of them!
Then today I received a Default Sum Notice. Does this appear on my credit file and do I need to ask to get it removed, along with the refund of the charges?
I've done reclaims before, but never asked for default notices to be removed so now I'm wondering if I should have!
Can anyone clear this up for me, before I get writing my pre-lim letter?
I still haven't found out about this Default thing. Does anyone know if it affects my credit file? I only recently got a credit report so don't want to pay for another really.
I've also now lost my promotional interest rate since I broke the terms by being a couple of days late one time!
Going to put a pre-lim claim letter in for the £12 overlimit fee.
