Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I moved out of a property in 2006 and the tenants that remained took a catalogue out in my name and racked up a £200 bill.
I have since been contacted from such bottomfeeders as BCW, Wescot and Brian carter.
Ive requested a CCA and reported to the police and provided the DCA's with the crime ref number.
No-one has provided me with a CCA.
My point is the company that now owns this debt has placed a default on my file.
How would I go about getting this removed ?

The default is from pheonix, the new owners. I have contacted them (pheonix) and they are aware although they claim they are not aware. I did write to the DCA dealing with it and made them aware.
The default is dated 2006.... I only found out about this in 08.
In that case, I think you might want to write to them with the Police reference number and ask that they remove the default from your credit record as it is not your debt.
