Thread: bus lane - no letter

Hi,
on 11 may 2009 i received a letter from equita regarding an unpaid penalty charge in the borough of barnet for £197 including their charge. I did't know anything so I phone them. They told me that the penalty was from 14 august 2008, and to phone Barnet Borough to find out more. I phone them, and inform me that on the 14 august 2009 I was on the bus lane so I must pay...
Until 11 may 2009 I didn't know anything about this penalty, and I ask them why i was not informed until now (9 months), but the guy on the line told me is not his fault. I ask for a photo of my car and he told me that i am going to received it in few days.
Today 3 june, still waiting for that photo, i received a letter from a bailiff, that he is authorized to remove my car because of that unpaid penalty.
I contacted him and payd £617!!!
How can i get my charges back?
617 - 120 (penalty for bus lane)= aprox 500 pounds!!!

Which firm was the bailiff from?

Had you received any other contact apart from the letter from equita about the debt? Anything to say they were going to persue this through the courts due to non-payment?

The bailiff was from equita, with a county order from nothampton

I did not receive any correspondence from Barnet. I have sent an email with PE3 & PE2 to Trafic Enforcement. Waiting for an answer from them

Anyone knows how much i have to wait?
