Dear All
I am new to this section of the forum.
I took out mortgage protection insurance with Zurich Insurance through a broker when I took out my mortgage. At the time I took it out I was lead to believe that it covered unemployment. Last year I tried to claim I was informed that my policy does not cover
redundancy and only covered death and illness.
I am assuming I can make a claim for this. Would I be rejected because I did not read the terms and conditions sent to me?
I also had PPI on my credit cards. Again, when I tried to claim some years ago I was not able to so I cancelled all the PPI. For whatever reason MBNA decided to ignore my request on one of the two cards I had with them. I am looking to reclaim PPI for all my credit cards. Does it only cover six years and should I send a Subject to Access Request before proceeding with the credit card claims?
I understand the rules will make it much more difficult from 22nd June. Is this true? (this the date when there could be a ruling on bank charging issues but will not be tied into the subject of mis-sold PPI. Each PPI case usually differs but mis-selling was rife. You will be better prepared if you read up on the subject get all your paperwork via SAR and then have a methodical plan of action and stick to the statutory timescales
