Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I'm doing this on my daughter's behalf. She was badgered into making a appointment with Double Take and foolishly gave them her bank card number. When she phoned up to cancel the appointment (it's a answerphone and you have to wait for someone to phone you back) she was told that there would be a standard charge of £50.00, but they took £120.00 out of her bank.
She spoke to the bank and they said there was nothing they could do to stop the payment going through. The following week they took £120.00 again.
Have tried ringing but just get a answerphone and nobody gets back to us.
Is there anything we could do to get some of the money back at least?
