Default Football Boots - Sports Direct

Hello, today i purchased a pair of football boots at eighty pounds. I wore them today in a football match, just one game and the sole has came off them partially, as if the glue wasnt strong enough so hasnt bonded well with the sole.

When i bought the boots, she said is i have any problems i am only entitled to a credit note or exchange.

    Surely this cannot be right?

You are entitled to a FULL refund as well as a repair or replacement. I would generally only take a refund or replacement (dependent on what you want). If they try to fob you off tell them you are rejecting the goods under your statutory rights and as such are legally entitled to a refund under section 35 of the Sales of Goods act 1979 (as amended)

I am happy to offer helpful advise in many consumer problems based on my retail experience. I do not represent any company, and any advise I do offer is my opinion and how I understand the law. I have no authority to create any terms for any company I do work for and will just nudge you in the right direction without breeching their trust.

Just to be picky, s. 14 would be better as you have not accepted the goods.

    s. 35 put the retailer in the position of being able to choose a repair or replacement ahead of a refund and is not suitable if you want a full refund there and then.
