Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
This is my first forum! I found this site and found it really useful and reassuring so I joined. I got a ticket today at the Brewery Romford. I'd arrived there at 1.04pm parked in the open roof area and paid £3.50 parking cos we were going to lunch etc.The ticket was valied til 7.04pm Unfortunately and unbeknown to me as we closed the car door the ticket must have blown along the dashboard. We returned to the car and found a ticket saying the vehicle did not clearly display a valid parking ticket.
I have kept the receipt for the parking and what I'd like to know is should I even write to them explaining what happened after all it did appear that I hadn't paid? And then ingnore any reponses.
I wish I had found this site last November-they already diddled me out of £50 for parking at night when I thought it was free- there was no clear signs and you certainly can't read the small typeface on the machine by streetlight. I'll put that one down to experience!
Look forward to your advise.:-|
Thanks for the advice. I'm going to take it and see what happens. They are actually installing a new system of parking machines at the Brewery were you get your ticket and pay before you leave so lets hope MET are no longer there ripping people off for no good reason.
Thanks again
