    Default HI

Just a quick note to say HI... as I'm new here and to say thanks to Stephen (and the James O'Brien Show on LBC 97.3 yesterday morning) for helping me find out about this site and my rights when it comes to unfair bank charges, of which I have been a victim on almost a monthly basis.

Well done Stephen (and the rest of you). Keep up the good work.

A letter to my bank (Alliance and Leicester PLC) was posted off today.

I'll keep you informed of any progress.

    PJ x

Sorry I know this might be a tenuous link but it does involve Abbeyicon Credit Card and I'm new to this so don't know the ropes. Missed Stephen on LBC but read about him in the Daily Mail and have raised a case against Abbey after gleaning information from the Govan Law Centre. My claim against Abbey is for unfair penalties amounting to £479 incl court fee which was issued on 13th.Feb. Have had a fortnight of harassment through telephone callsicon, to-day came the best. This person said they had been in the process of replying to me,( I had given them numerous chances with the standard letter from the Govan Law Centre and my list of penalties applied to my account) when they got my court notice. They are prepared to refund £500 (including the latest statement with 2 more charges) but they will then terminate my contract and I will have to pay back the full amount, they are supposed to be putting this in writing. My husband says I should reply that as they are refunding the charges they obviously know they are illegal and that the contract is essentially flawed and they should not be advising people to sign such a contract if they know it contains unfair clauses - any other ideas anyone? miss muppet
