Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I booked a holiday through Expedia to go to New York in December. However, I need to cancel this due to unforseen circumstances. Expedia advise that I will lose my flight money (about £400) but maybe be able to recoup up to £206 back in taxes and fees from British Airways. However, they cannot give me a definitive sum for between 2-12wks and its at the discretion of the airline.

Re: refund for flight taxes/fees -cancelled holiday
Officially you cannot reclaim all taxes and fees back, just the APD element.
I do not agree with that, but it helps to explain it. British Airways may refund the lot, though (and I hope so). Others won't, and most budget airlines will not refund anything. Well, Ryanair wouldn't and Easyjet would.
Read their T&C's though they don't necessarily count as gospel.
Cancelling your flight will also come with admin 'penalties' right or wrong.
