Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I had my house repossessed by NR a few months back. I never actually received any information relating to this from them as I didn't ever live there and the place was just empty (thats another story), so all the mail they sent me went un answered. Anyway, from the Land registry in scotland I can see the property was sold for £91k - my MTG was for 64K and a together loan for around £20K - however I received a letter from a DCA for a further £26K. I have not spoken to either the DCA or NR - I will do, just looking for a few words of advice first.
Hi there, you should send a Subject access request to NR (look in the templates library for the letter), that will give you all the information they hold on you - including the marketing and sale of the property. You can then investigate whether the process was conducted in your best interests as there are guidelines that they are supposed to follow when selling a repossessed property.
