Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
On the 27th March 09 my car was rear ended by a 3rd party who admitted liablity and my back bumper got replaced and the issue was resolved withour going through my own insurance, however i did report it to my brokers/insurers for information purposes, i at this time also informed my brokers that my insurance certificate still read student as occupation, but I have actually graduated and work full time, though i will be starting a post grad in September.
On the 2nd May I was then rear ended a 2nd time, this time the accidnet was very serious, i was hit from behind by a drunk driver traveling at over 100mph, the drivers of the other Vehicle abandoned ther damaged car and fled the scene whilst i struggeled to get out of my over turned vehicle. I have since been informed that the registered owner of the vehicle is claiming that he was not driving the car but has not reported it stolen.
I have been advised that i need to go though my own insurance since the MIB will take a long time to resolve the issue, i have reported it and sent of all my details, however it was at this point that i went back to my brokers again regarding my occupation being stated wrongly on the certificate and they then printed me a new certificate of insurance to reflect my actual occupation. I am now worried that since this certifcate clearly shows that the document was changed on the 12th may (after my accident) that my insurers will say my policy was not valid.
Can any one advise?? I am soo upset over the whole thing, and the last thing i need is for them to refuse to pay out especially since i had only taken out the loan to buy the car 2months before and it has been declared a total loss!
I don't think that it will affect it.
The change does not materially affect the risk.
If they start being silly, come back here

Advice & opinions of BankFodder, The Consumer Action Group and The Bank Action Group are offered informally, without prejudice & without liability. Use your own judgment. Seek advice of a qualified insured professional if you have any doubts.
It won't affect you at all unless it is some occupation that they do not usually cover, such as professional footballer, and even then they will struggle.
As BF said, it's simply not material to the incident, so don't worry.
