The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have bought 3-seat karlstad sofa from IKEA,width 206cm,depth 93 cm, height 80 cm, my doorway is 190cm high, 72 cm wide. it was delivered in a box and it didn't fit through the door. The delivery people refused to take the package off and to try to "wriggle it in" using its L-shape or to take the sides off with wrench.as I was unable to do anything and they left, I contacted customer service who said I will lose 30% of total refund because the sofa was made to order and it was my fault that I didn't think about the dimensions. they also said that they had sent me email about 30% and a letter via post neither of which I'd received. I am very upset and confused not only because I am losing 30% and a sofa I wanted so much, but mainly because I have seen bigger sofas in houses smaller than mine and I have got standard doorway anyway! am I condemned to sit on armchairs for the rest of it?
no, I had no one and the delivery men just went -'oh well, we can't do it,we won't try without the box in case we damage it accidentally and you blame us so we either leave it standing in the corridor or take it back.
