Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Im new to this forum but seems to be littered with experts in this field, so was hoping for some advice!!
I cancelled my DD interest repayment of my Egg CC three months ago. I forgot about this and heard nothing from EGG until i received a letter from Fredrickson International who said i owed them £1500 plus solicitors fees etc. They then asked waht i could afford to pay on a monthly basis. I said around £100 but can pay nothing till 28th May. At the end of the call he said that for £1000 i could clear all debt there and then!! What is going on here, seems a bit shady!? I have read a few posts on here, and they suggest that i request a CCA? Sorry for my lack of knowledge for this subject.
It's odd that you've received no communication from Egg over that time. It maybe because they mixed up your contact details and sent correspondence to an old address. Your lack of response would then cause them to sell the debt to Fredrickson Int. who have now caught up with you.
You could begin negotiations for a Full and final settlement or require them to supply you with a copy of your agreement, and take it from there. I would certainly check my credit rating to see if you've been defaulted, and you may want to contact Egg to find out what's happened in the last three months.
