I bought a Vacuum Cleaner fron Argos last August, over last month of so, the suction on it has gone, tried new filters and all the usuals but no luck.
With previous experiance, I took it back to Argos, expecting there would just replace it, I told them the problem, there tested it and found there was a problem.
But then the assistant called the manager, and the manager said that I would need to contact Vax the manufacture directly.
I said it has a 12 month garuntee with Argos directly and not with Vax.
But she replied by sayng that with Vax products I got to contact them, as if there accepted it, there would not get credited from Vax.
If this right, in the past, there just replace or replace with another?
No, it is not right.
The supplier is always responsible. Argos have some little arranegement with VAX but you don't have to accept it.
It isn't your problem if they don't get credited by VAX.

Sorry to hear of your vacum problems, i had a similar problem last year with the same retailer and make of vacum, i was told to ring Vax direct, i was a little anoyed at doing this but glad i did.
Basically i had a suction problem with the vacum that resulted in lines been left in the carpet, Vax very kindly arranged for a repalcement and collection, on receving the new vacum and following the first use the exact problem occured again, i rang Vax, explained the problem and my disastisfaction, they then arragned for an independent engineet to attend at my property to inspect the vacum, the following week an engineer attended, carried out the relevent tests, he confirmed that there was a problem with the vacum and would forward his report to Vax.
A few weeks later i received a call from Vax, they admitted everything with the vacum, they offered to upgrade the vacum and offer me £600 compensation, for the damage to carpet and for inconvenience, i obviusly accepted this offer, i received the upgraded vacum a few days later followed by a cheque, the whole process took about 3 months but i even never wrote one letter, just a thank you email once completed.
If you would like a direct email to Vax let me know and i will PM you the details.
