Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi I'm new here and don't really know what I'm doing or where to put this but my situation is this:
lloydstsb are charging me £15 a day plus £15 for being over my overdraft limit (for 10 days by the time I get paid) = £165 in one hit (and its not the first time)
This is relatively new. They used to charge the standard £30 like everyone else but now they're charging by the day.
Is it just me or have they got a hell of a nerve actually INCREASING their charges in the light of the recent rulings against them by the courts?
2 questions:
1. Do you think they've done this to recoup as much of toxic debt losses as possible, or have they found some loophole where the new charging structure might not be considered unfair, or be more defendable?, and
2. Do you think they could mount a defence that repaying all the charges to everyone might cripple/bankrupt them and that would be detrimental to the economy having just been bailed out by the Government?
I admit I don't know much about it except that the test case is going to rumble on for some time (House of Lords, Europe etc)

Beleive it or not I'm actually getting a specialist firm to do it for me. I just don't have the time to do it all myself. I know they will charge 25% of anything I may (or may not) get back, but I'm OK with that.
I guesss they'll put in the claim, go as far as they can and then I'll just have to wait for the test case ruling like everyone else.
Please help...
I recieved a letter from Lloyds sayint that they are going to charge me for 20£ unplanned overdraft. They said: £15 monthy fee and every day £6 ( 4 days).
I wrote them a letter saying that this is not fair (templates letter).
Today I got a reply saing that they are not going to cancel fees and when I opened current account with them i signed terms and conditions...
Please advise how what to do now...
I am lost!
regards, Elena
