Hiya, Hope someone can help, paid my A+L credit card 1 day before last payment date (a friday). On next statement was charged £12 for late payment, as they did not process the transaction to the monday. On phoneing was informed that this was standard and i would definatley not be refunded. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem and how it went.

Hi there, i paid my A+L visa bill 1 day before last due date (a friday), in my next statement i was charged £12 for a late payment, on phoning to inquire about charge was told that the bill would not have been processed till the monday therefor it went down as a late payment and there would be no chance of reimbursement. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this and what was the outcome. Cheers.
As you can see from my post this bank imposed charges 2 direct debits bouncing despite me going into the bank on the day they were due. They told me that I would have to pay any monies due for direct debits one business day prior to them being due and this does not include Saturdays and Sundays. They sent me a lengthy letter also highlighting the time it takes to process transactions. If I were you I would pursue it and write to them stating your case and telling them you were unaware of this and maybe they will refund the charges although they will probably tell you not to do it again. If not then take the advise given in this forum and tell them you are taking legal action to recover it.
