Being disabled I used to have to go two miles to the doctors. Now today, I joined a new super surgery that has just opened in my town. Its so new it only went live this Saturday! Its going to be open 12 hours a day and 7 days a week with walk in for non residents! Best of all its only down the road- so I could see a doc at 7pm at night if I wanted too! Is this the much talked about shake up of the NHS? Apparently they are combining several local surgeries into one. I never could get into the one nearest me. BTW don't all rush to join its in Gt.Yarmouth!

There does seem to be lots of changes going on for the better - longer opening hours for GP's, local access centres making "access" easier, etc.
Plus, I saw an ad on a bus shelter today saying they are now giving Pharmacists more powers to offer medication for minor ailments without the need for referral to a GP.
I wonder if this makes wanting to be a GP less attractive?
