Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I sent the standard letter requesting a signed copy of my Credit Agreement. I have had this account for ov er 15 years. I heard nothing but instead they decided to offer me an increase in my credit limit to a whopping £15,000.
I would appreciate some help in what to do next. I have read much of the forums but am finding it all so confusing. Some say i should stop paying and some not. I am worried about the impact of stopping paying. I have financial difficulties at the moment so it would help or could i offer to pay a little less while it is sorted out.
Hi Latipac girl,
With the CCA request they have 12 working days from the day they recieve it to reply. Did you send it signed for? If you did you can check on line to see when they recieved it.
If 12 working days has passed that means Lloyds has put the account into dispute, in other words the debt is unenforceable without a CCA. for example if they were to take you to court for this debt, they would have to produce the CCA.
There is a template on here somewhere to send to them, it basically says I acknowledge no debt, your 12 days has passed as of this date, better to produce it now than in court etc.
But it is up to you what you do with regards to paying. There are more savvy people on here who may have more advice, as I have only just started myself taking on Lloyds!
