Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Three years ago I took my car off the road and declared it off road. the following year I done the same but did not get any documents back from them, so I phoned DVLA at least 4 times. (I know is on record along with my other calls regarding this matter as DVLA have confirmed this). After talking to them and explaining that the car is still off the road they stated they would look into the matter, this year the car was re declared off road so in total the car has been off road for three years, (full rebuild) I then received a letter from a debt collection company call Philips, I phoned them and to say they were rude is an understatement, they basically said no grounds to appeal this, even though I explained the above. I re contacted DVLA who now say it’s out off their hand and they can`t deal with it. I am now getting two to three txt messages a day and night form Philips telling me I need to pay the fine along with all forms of threats what can i do?please thank you in advance Dave
The car was scarpped three years ago. I'm told by the debt collectors that DVLA wrote to me at an address I didn't live at about a car I no longer owned - but I should have known!
Are there any solicitors out there reading these posts? There are thousands of near identical complaints - what about getting together and taking a Class Action Suit out against DVLA?
