Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hello everybody. What a great site
I am about to try to reclaim PPI costs added to a Capital One CC.
I have already recieved a copy of the original application form (they dont appear to have an agreement as set out in the 1974 act ) and i have sent SAR off and recieved my statements with the info i need.
What i would like to know is, on adding up the PPI charges which total around £700 for 5 years can i claim interest at their contractual interest rate. Also i have seen the single premium PPI calculator but could someone point me in the direction of a calculator that deals with different PPI charges amounts every month.

I am about to try to reclaim PPI costs added to a Capital One CC.
I have already recieved a copy of the original application form (they dont appear to have an agreement as set out in the 1974 act ) (If they have no original agreement you can if you wish put the account in dispute and stop payments until they produce one) and i have sent Subject access request off and recieved my statements with the info i need.
What i would like to know is, on adding up the PPI charges which total around £700 for 5 years can i claim interest at their contractual interest rate. (Yes) andyou can also claim the 8% statutory interest from the date the loan/card started. Also i have seen the single premium PPI calculator but could someone point me in the direction of a calculator that deals with different PPI charges amounts every month.

2 ongoing claims for bank charges with HSBC with more to come. (Supreme Court ruling could have upset these claims) They did
PPI Successes
PPI 4 settlements on 9 loans. FOS involvement on 7 added on the 8 % Statutory interest another 30% to both.
2 claims settled in full with LV without FOS involvement.
2 claims settled in full with HSBC without FOS involvement
PPI Claims ongoing with:
Cap one Now with the FOS
Barclays. Paid up today 24/04/10 cheque received for over £4,500 and in the bank.
LTSB still have to decide on this as their SAR production was abysmal. Papers data mixed up documents missing etc
Please do not PM me for advice as it may be sometime before I can respond.
Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
Hi
Ok thanks for the link AA and the added info.
It may be the excitment of claiming my money back or more likely my brain going into confused mode as spreadsheets not my cup of tea but im willing to persevere. I am trying to use the advanced excel credit card ss. Everytime i try to clear or delete the cells so i can input my data i lose the formula. Does someone have a simple answer to my problem.
Thanks MS
Ok hi all ive managed to sort out my earlier problems with SS.
What i have ended up with is
Total PPI charges is 841.94
total interest at their contractual rate 758.04
TOTAL 1599.98
Not a bad mornings work methinks.
Will put the post tomorrow and see what they say. I suppose ultimatley it will be the fos or court and court may not be a bad route as they have had no consent from me to charge for PPI (no tick in application form box and no telephone conversations in results from SAR).

And theres 8% to look forward to also
Well done the main point is if your calculations are disagreed with then cap1 will soon be writing to you
If they say no chance of a refund and the FOS become involved they will ensure the figures provided by cap1 are accurate for any amount of refund you are due.
Keep at them
