    Default First Plus PPI Claim

Hope someone can help, I have mad a few successful credit card claims and have my bank one stayed but have not yet ventured into the world of PPIicon claiming yet, I generally have always opted out of this but I received a letter from First plus this morning, a statement really which shows PPI on there.
I took the loan out in 2002 over 10 years and there is about £1500 left. I paid a lump off the balance a few years ago (when I was flush) which in effect reduced my monthly repayment by about half.
I don't know my APR yet, I'll have to dig out whatever paperwork I have, but the premium was £723 on top of a £5000 loan.

Where do I start? I think I have a copy of all statements, is there a quick calculator to give me an idea of what I could be looking at?

    Thanks in advance

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.

    Thanks!
I have found the statements but no APR on there so I will ring them for that.
So can I go straight to a request for refund letter? or lbaicon?

I have read some of the above links, I did not even know it was on the loan let alone have anything explained. The rep from the window company filled everything out, I just signed it. It also appears he entered my income plus about 15K!!!(i wish).
He did say that they know how to get the applications for finance approved...
    I just wanted windows!

If you know how much PPI you paid and the premiums you have been paying you can go straight for a give me my money back reclaim letter.

They then have 8 weeks to comply and pay up. If they do not reply within 8 weeks or give you a refusal to refund before the 8 weeks are up you can go straight to the fosicon. The waiting game will then commence but the FOS are upholding the majority of claims about 90%. A complaint to the FOS will also cost FP a £500 fee and if the FOS upholds your complaint you will get your PPI premiums back and the interesticon on them and more than likely the statutory 8% interest on top.

Best to let the FOS have a copy of everything you have. They are happy with copies.

I would tend to keep everything in writing so you have records for future use.
If you see my signatureicon box at the bottom of my posts there is a link to the fight I had with RBSicon.
