i ahve submiteda claim for charges relating to a number of store cards ge have wrote today and have credited the diffrence over the 12 pounds charges they think they can now charge do we now accept this or do we take the next step with court papers and go after the full charges they failed to provide all the statments and handed a number of accounts on to howerd cohen group and lewis dept recovery and cl finance arethese all the same companys ? has any one had recent success going after full charges the amount is around 1500 pounds and will clear all the accounts

so did you also chagres them 8% stat int on top of your figure?

i would only accept it as a partial payment & cont with court threat.

Remind them no one said they could charge £12.

Your letter indicates you believe your charges are in line with the Office of Fair Trading Guidelines.

In order to make it clear to you that OFT did not give you permission to charge £12.00 I include these quotes from OFT.......

“We are not suggesting that default fees should be set at £12, and a court will certainly not consider that a default fee is fair just because it is below the threshold”.

In order for you to charge me £12.00 you must demonstrate to me that it cost £12.00

thankyou do you know if i can also claim back so called solicitors fees on two of the accounts that we passed on to cl finace and are being dealt with by lewis group and howard cohen solicitors which after some digging i have discovered all belong to the same company i receved no letters from ge saying they we passing my accounts on the first i knew about it when court papers were sent through the post to my wife who was hevily pregnant at the time (accting on her behalf) as you can imagine it caused her a great deal of distress and she payed it as quikk as she could they have since passde others on which has cost her more the company sounds like they have no morals can they pass an account on that is in dispute as we had sent letters around six months back and no reply sorry for all the quistions
