Default vehiclefirst.co.uk - Car selling site

    Hello !

A guy from the website called me several times a week asking me if I would like to put my car on their website to sell it(As I am currently trying to sell the car). He said he gurantees me that they will sell the car in 7 - 9 days for the asking price which was £1200.

I thought that sound good and he kind of spoke alot about it and that they will refund me the money if I am not happy and so on. So I agreed and payed a fee of £40 to have him put my car on his website. He did it and I didn't hear anything afterwards from him. I didn't even get any login details, not even after I have written them that I haven't received any information. My car is on the website and the money was taken, but after 10 days the car is still not sold and they never got back to me with any login details for the website.

I was wondering if there is any way getting my money back ? He guaranteed me that they will sell the car, but nothing happens. I guess I've just been fooled.

VehicleFirst.co.uk || Terms & Conditions | Used Cars for Sale, Buy used car

These are the terms. Do you think I am able to get my money back in form of real money and not a credit note(as mentioned there)

    Thanks for any help !

The only thing is if you paid by credit card, you may be able to do a charge back, however they have done what he said and put it on their website, Any other conditions did they say they would email potential buyers? did they? breach of contract possibly. As for guaranteeing to sell it; if it sounds too good to be true then it probably is! have you anything in writing to that effect? I bet not.
possibly put this one down to experience.

I've already paid the debt off from the credit card. Would I still be eligible for a charge back ? They never emailed me any potential buyers or even gave me the login details to the website.

You can do a charge back at any time (CC). You need write/email cc co. with a copy of statement identifying entry and then explain why you are asking for them to repay the debit; valid reasons are usualy fraud, unfair terms, faulty goods, breach of contract etc. you also need to demonstrate that you have tried to resolve problem direct with dealer or seller witout success; copies of emails or letters sent to them with either no or a negative response. good luck. BCard are usually pretty responsive but may take a good few weeks or even months for it to be settled, but you get there in the end. have succesfully got over £1.2k from them.

I presume that the chargeback referred to is S75 of the Consumer Credit Act? If so then the transaction has to be over £100 and in this case the CC co is jointly liable to breaches of contract. You would have a hard time proving what was said on the phone, without having taped it.

I think it is best that you write to them and claim that the contract was misrepresented (the guaranteed buyer bit) and request a refund.

Also report this to your local trading standards office.

I have got money back from bc for 39.99 and 21.00 all through unfair terms and conditionsicon for a service. BC did not accept liability but refunded anyway. So always worth a try. Got £1200 back for a faulty car 11 months after purchase for reapair costs, they did accept liability for that. would have refunded all the money for the car but I already had the car repaired.

They are really ridiculous ! I've emailed them again that I haven't received any login details and so on and I would like a refund. They're just ignoring me!

Can I just got to my bank and ask them I would like to claim back money I've paid for a car ad ?

Sorry this is a well known [problem] on the caravan forums and is now under another guise or name. In essence you have lost your money and will have difficulty claiming it back as they never respond to any emails, letters or phone callsicon.
I know it is not what you want to hear but if you can nail them, go for it!

I noticed that you have only recently joined the site and immediately jumped to the defence of this company. Do you work for them?

I'll try and call them. I hope that the call was recorded as you would clearly hear how he guaranteed me selling my car in 7 - 9 days.

Hi I had the same problem.

This website is a complete fraud. They guaranteed to get my car sold within a week or so otherwise I could ask for a refund. Luckily I suspected something fishy and recorded the conversation on my camera. The only problem is that the camera recording shows that they tricked me with their wording of the refund policy. They said that the whole amount would be refunded back to me with a "credit note". I assumed it would be in cash. But when I eventually claimed for a refund, they told me that they would send me a "credit note", which I now understand, means that I can use the amount to to sell cars in the future using only their service. If I do not intend to use their service (which I don't), I'll just be left with a useless credit note of £59.

Also a point worth mentioning is the fees. They seem to charge random amounts, thus lacking in transparency. They charged you £40, charged me £59 and their website says £69 for sellers to register their cars on the website.

Their website is also completely bogus. Once you login, there are many dead links. And it's hard to make any changes to your advertisement. When you click on the "find matches" link it just shows some non existent email addresses that are half hidden and there's no way you can get the whole email. Probably because they don't exist in the first place. When I spoke to their customer services department, they said that they do it for data protection, which I think is a load of ....

I feel a bit helpless about this though. If anyone has advice on this, I would be more than grateful. Not just for the sake of money, but to eventually bring these people to justice. There is only one small thing in my favour though. The terms and conditionsicon section says that, "In case of refund, the advertisement will be terminated.

Obviously they have been doing this to a lot of people and need to be stopped immediately.
