Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
I have just cancelled all my DD etc so that I do not get any further charges. I intend to start proceedings to get back my charges. The last few years have been hard, but now we are in nightmare land, I have been putting in the region of 700 per month into this account, wages and a small payback for the loan to our company (I am one of the owners). However as is general although not suffering as badly as some are suffering with lack of orders, so as one of the directors I am taking less pay to keep the company going. But Abbey are making sheer hell (this is my personal account nothing to do with the company). The charges are escalating like a snow ball, last month alone they took over 200 in charges of one sort or another, at this moment of time I am only 20 over the overdaraft limit, for which I will undoubtly get charged huge amounts. They are making my life untenable. I was paying back all my creditors for the last 4 years with no trouble, another 18 months and they would have been off my back for ever. now it will never happen. Cant afford to be bankrupted as that would be the end of two fairly sound businesses, if we can stay afloat through the recession we will be in a posisiton to employ even more people.
Now I am going to do what maybe I should have started some time ago and go after Abbey- they used to be such helpful organisation - now they are...... And this has all gone so horribly wrong since the fraudulent use of my account - they still have not sent me my statement to see if any further amounts have been taken and they will not return the charges that have been put on because of the fraudulent activity.
Beating head against brick wall.
So now to calm down and go through all my statements and luckily I have them all going back some 20 years and ask them to give me back my charges.
Now to find all the templates etc and to get on with it.
Thanks for reading my little rant and forgive me for being so very
Oh and when I asked them to cancel DD they said they would be sending me a letter asking me to repay my OD - its 500!
