My Grill on my cooker was on fire this morning. My son had accidentally put it on. I called Brighthouse to tell them and they are sending out an engineer. I was just wondering what is going to happen. I've got s funny feeling they won't replace it. I dont have house insurance. Am I right?
I am new to the forum and not sure yet how to use it, but could someone please help me. I am a single mother of 2 and i moved into a home on my own with nothing and went to bright house for some household equipment. They were more than happy to help. I recieve £90 per week and out of this i pay brighthouse £50 per week. I am really struggling to keep up with the payments. I recently missed a payment and i ended up with £116-00 with the late payments on top of my weekly payment. I went into the store and they set me up with a new aggreement and put the late charges onto the end of the aggreement. I asked them if they could reduce my payments but they said that they couldnt. I am paying around £3-50 per item for insurance. If possible could anyone help me as i am really struggling. If you can could you please e-mail me on Edit just incase i cannot find this thread again as im new to the site. Thank you
You should have Brighthouse's own Damage Liability Cover which i believe covers accidental damage. I would not tell them what really happened i would tell them that you switched it off and you don't know what happened. Do you have Optional Service Cover? Under the OSC they should repair or replace it. You have to be careful with electric cookers. I have had mine for 2 years after using gas all my life and i sometimes put the wrong hotplate on. Something i am now very careful with.
