Hi, New to the forum hello to all.
Basically I need a little advise. Heres the background info:
The situation is a manager looks after a depo in charge of two engineers. Said engineers are distantly related and socialise outside of work so good friends. One of the engineers Wife is very up on employment law.
Of late the engineers are not pulling their weight in terms of not completing enough work or good enough standards of work. This has been mentioned to them by their manager.
Manager has also asked for engineers to complete day-to-day diarys to track progress on the days jobs. This has not solved the situation so manager sends the two engineers to see HR at head office branch.
Now manager is called into head office by HR with a accusation of bullying the two engineers. Both have collaborated false accusations of bulliing by the manager, threats of redundancyetc none of which is true.
Basically it is two engineers word against the managers. The engineers are deflecting the situation of them not doing their jobs to accusing the manager of bullying, which is not fair.
Does two peoples word against one stick as proof for bullying as their is no other evidence? Situation has upset and stress manager as the head office seem to be siding with the two engineers.
Also how long does an investigation period occur? is there set limits by law or is it decided by the company?
Sorry for the essay
