Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Like a fool I have signed up to one of these internet get rich schemes ([problem]s) and have lost out on $72 (£51). I signed up for a cd, username and password for $3.88 (which I was happy to pay) but as I didn't read the t&cs which state by doing this you are agreeing to a monthly fee of $72 (£51) I have now had that money debited from my account which has left me with no money. I have not received anything I signed up for, what can I do? I have obviously paid for a service that I have not received but I was just so desperate to make extra money. The [problem] was called Google Money Tree and that was the only reason IU signed up for it, because I thought it was associated with Google, which, according to all the internet warning pots regarding this site, it is not!
First of all contact your bank or CC to stop any more payments.
Not sure how and if you would get any money back.
This money tree [problem] has been around for years, they used to do it by post, bit like pyramid selling other people buy into it and you are supposed to get a share. But it never happens, only people to make money are the organisers.
Beware that banks will often refuse to stop payments on this kind of thing. They will try to tell you that they have a duty to pay and that you will have to contact the payee to cancel your payments.
Banks are extremely unhelpful with this kind of thing.
Your best protection will be to tell the bank that your card has been stolen and that it should be cancelled and a new card with a new number issued.
Do this on the phone, confirm in wiriting and make sure that you log the dte and time ofyour phone call and also the name of the person you have spoken to.
Keep a copy of your confirming letter.
Amzing, really that you should have to take these mesures when in fact you are the client of your bank - not the payee.
However, the banks have lost their way as far as client service is concerned and it tends to be every man/woman for himself

Something similar happened to me regarding a "free" download site. There was a nominal set up fee which is why they had my card details and then 2 weeks later another £30 had disappeared from my account.
Firstly, do as Mustang says and cancel any debits etc. They contact the company and the merchant they used. Keep complaining and tell them that you believe that you were mislead into giving your bank details.
Don't dispair and keep complaining. Also, make surce you cancel your membership with them also as otherwise they may be able to make a debit with your card details (as opposed to direct debit) next month also.
By the way, the only people who seem to get rich on the internet are those who sell such ideas to others!!
Read this link here as charges appear to have been filed against them in Texas.
It took me a month but I did eventually get my money back and am sure you can too.
By the way, I think the info they supply is regarding selling on ebay, dropshipping and finding suppliers. The latter two will be US based and hence, of no use to you at all in the UK.
I have loads of information on this type of thing that I have collected for over 2 years. So let me know if there is something you are interested in and I'll dig something up for you...for FREE!!
EDIT: No bank details required for the FREE offer!!
If you feel I've helped then by all means click my star to the left...a simple "thank you" costs nothing!
First of all, contact your bank immediatly and explain what happened and get them to cancel the direct debit right away.
Sorry if someone has posted this before me. I started to do this reply then went off to do a search on google money tree. It's interesting that their CS is totally crap but one guy on [problem].com is making refunds
I have been caught out by these [problem]s in the past so I know how you feel. I doubt if there is much you can do about it.
One thing you could do is ask your card provider it it is possible to do a chargeback.
I hope I'm not breaking any forum rules by saying this. If you are keen to try making a few £ online you could try doing surveys. It's only a small amount of money each time but of course it all adds up. I did two this week at 50p a time. As you can see it won't make you rich over night, but after a month or two it might just be enough to buy you a cd or maybe some clothes.
If it's ok with a mod. I can give you a lnk to the one I have settles with out of the few I have tried.
EDIT.
Looks like several people have beaten me to it whilst I reading up about this shower.
HALIFAX: 13/01/07 Sent S.A.R - (Subject Access Request) letter (marked as rec'd 16/01)
Paid in full in March 07
I cancelled my card on saturday with the bank, and checked my account this morning and guess what..my balance was £0, even though I had money go into my account. I asked the bank about this missing amount and the first person I spoke to said it was taken by the fraud department, the second person said it was another debit card paymeny made on 4th may even though my card was cancelled on sat 2nd may!!! and another person I spoke to was not very helpful and didn't know where the money had gone so I am now on my way to Halifax to close my account and re-open with another bank! On Saturday, I was told by the woman I spoje to she was filling in a fraud claim for me, this morning i was told to go to my local bank and fill in a claim form there, so it looks like i have not had my card cancelled or fraud form filled in as I was told on Saturday.
