Nope don't buy your own sheep and keep it in the bathroom an even better idea.

Toilet rolls cost about £4 at Asda and other stores for a 12 pack, you can buy a 10 pack of recycled rolls at Lidle for £1.39, they are smaller but just as thick and have just as many sheets as the leading brands, you get used to the smaller sheets going back to the popular rolls seems a waste.

Not only are you saving cash but with smaller sheets and recycled you are saving the environment.

And dont forget to use both sides of the paper.

If you are feeling posh and want something quilted go for Farmfoods - they sell 4 rolls for a £.

The cheaper ones in asda have smaller rolls (200 sheets I think)and very poor quality so need extra to save a smelly conclusion.

what a thread. When I worked in heavy engineering, we had (on the shop floor) huge rolls of an extremely heavy duty absorbent paper used for clearing up oil spills, grease that sort thing. When new, a roll was circa 12" diameter and 36" wide. Arthur, an old lag would saw it into 5 sections and take it home for all the family to use. Never forget, he called it "arse ole wrapper".

Not been posh, but i nearly always use andrex, untill recently when i had an accident with one of there rolls ! This resulted in me forwarding a complaint to Andrex, Copy Below:

To whom it may concern

I am contacting you to express my disappointment with the Aloe Vera brand of Andrex Toilet Tissue, both my family and I have been regular purchases of Andrex products for a considerable amount of years with no problems.

I have recently purchased this particular product, both my family and I have encountered problems with the quality of the tissue, we have found that our fingers go through the tissue causing extreme mess, this was also extremely embarrassing at our recent dinner party, when most of our guests commented on the same problem, the consumption of hand wash clearly confirms what they have said and what I have also experienced.

I have now stopped using Andrex products and future purchases are also on hold until I receive an explanation from you.

Please could you give this matter your closest attention, if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me, I will now await your reply in due course.

Yeah, those packs are mashoosive.

Over the last year i have shopped at all of the big four, i don't really like the home brand bog roll, but Asda Shades is good value and soft between the cheeks aswell.
