Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights

Hi there,
I have a store card debt that was originally with GE Money.
Its not for much but while it was with them there were several late payment fees.
The debt was since sold to CL Finance.
Im told that I need to address the matter to GE Money. Is this correct?
And do I need to amend the prelim letter to reflect the fact that it was sold on to CL Finance?
Whoops!! Thought id sent it to 1st credit but asctually sent to Connaught.
Is it worth me sending to 1st credit aswell?? Just it will cost me another £1 P.O.
There saying that 'may take longer than 12 days specified by CCA' stuff in their letter. I presume they arent allowed to take longer and that I can ignore that?
If by 'preliminary letter' you mean a request under s78 of the CCA 1974 it should go to whoever is chasing the debt, presumably Connaught. If it is a preliminary letter reclaiming unlawful charges, it should go to GE Money
