Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Just a quick note to anyone new here - I have been reading this site for weeks and spend a few hours every night reading up on all the threads.
If you are new you will, just like I did find the information on this site overwhelming and you feel confused, so you post questions. Can I just say that you should really familarise yourself with the FAQs, especially the 'step by step instructions' http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk...tructions.html
I have read this section a million times, and I think everyone should before setting out to claim back your charges. Once you totally understand the steps you will actually enjoy the process, and you wont be confused and get agitated.
Take your time, do it right and enjoy your money when it comes through.
I look forward to keeping you updated on my progress, and I will post seperate threads in the relevant sections for each claim. (Birmingham Midshires, Capital One & Halifax all SAR stage).
Well said Andrew - it really does make a big difference! The important thing to remember is that this is a self-help site - all the info is there waiting for you, you just have to take the time to discover and understand it.
Also remember that the banks have a huge legal budget to 'protect' them from us and they look for loopholes, misinformation and lies to put us off. If you understand what you are doing, and what they are trying to do to stop you, it makes it easier for you and harder for them.
Good luck!
