Martin Lewis was on GMTV this morning. There is nothing to stop you from claiming financial hardship however, as you are in a dmpicon then it can go against you unless there are priority debt arrears that are not covered and that are threatening you with court action.

Sorry to be thick but am I missing something here?

I would have thought the fact that the OP is in a dmpicon demonstrates that the OP is suffering hardship.

Just been looking round and this is one persons view. A dmpicon will sometimes show you have your finances under control and unless you have mortgage/rent/council tax/utility arrears or court claims etc against you from anyone not accepting the dmpicon then it would be doubtful you would be receive any interim payment on hardship grounds. Just one persons view.Allways worth trying.

But surely the dmpicon is to manage the unsecured/non-priority debts, whereas it will include paying the arrears at an agreed rate on the secure/priority debts, ergo proving financial hardship.
If you didn't have secure/priority debt arrears, you'd only have arrears on unsecure/non-priority debts, ergo not have a requirement to be in a dmpicon.

Freaky, I think tawny has hit the nail on the head. On the forums, I have seen 1 single payout with someone on a dmpicon(not saying that banks don't payout but its a rarity). Banks' are looking at priority debts arrears for financial hardship and so non priority debts are not going to get your basic needs removed, ie water, electricity, gas, liberty, house.
A dmpicon furthermore shows that an arrangement is in place and therefore that creditors are not taking the person to court on debt. They're not my rules but I do understand them but some banks' are taking it to the extreme imho doing as little as possible unless forced to do so.

The fosicon are dealing with a claim for me at the moment. I wasn't playing the hardship card, but they are treating it as a hardship case because I mentioned in my complaint that I'm on a dmpicon.

Now that makes complete sense to me. If you were not suffering financial hardship then yu would not be on a dmpicon. Just my thinking anyway.
