Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Any quick advice on this would be much appreciated!
I made a UK hotel reservation with lastminute.com, which i now do not need, and wand to cancel in good time. They are refusing to provide a refund, and say i must pay in full.
It was for a Novotel hotel, and they did not take they money, they just passed the details on to Novotel. They have not taken the money yet.
They are saying that I cannot cancel the booking, and i must pay in full. I spoke to Novotel directly, and they say that the booking should have been sold as a non-changeable, non-cancellable reservation.
However, it was listed as "Standard room double bed convertible sofa bb bed brkfast. Early breaks - see conditions."
There was never any link to any extra conditions, and Lastminute are saying that as per their standard conditions, I must pay the full rate as that is what Novotel are charging.
However, I feel that this was almost mis-sold to me: had the listing said that there was no comeback, should i need to cancel, then i certainly would not have booked the room; I would have gone for a different rate, which would have allowed it.
