Question Halifax Total Mortgage Payment Protection reclaim

Hi, just wondering if anyone has any info regarding reclaims on this type of policy?

We transferred our Halifaxicon mortgageicon to a tracker rate in 2001. We were told that our existing mortgageicon payment plan with them was "inadequate" (the advisers exact words) and we would have to take out the new TMPP policy in order to qualify for the tracker rate. Being incredibly naive at that time and being on friendly terms with the adviser we did not question this.

Having joined this site to deal with other financial problems I now feel that we were missoldicon the policy, especially as it is essentially useless. The only extra cover it gave us was £2000 death/critical illness cover but our insurance premiums doubled.

I sent a reclaim letter at the end of Feb but have received no reply - just waiting for the 8 weeks to be fully up before I make my next move.

Would appreciate any information on success/failure on reclaiming premiums paid for this particular type of policy.

    Many thanks, CM.

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
