i got a ticket via post from kent police for speeding in dartfoed kent,
now on the picture i requested as the actual fixed camera is out of use with a red sheet over it looks like i been caught by either a patrol car or a parked van with cameras in the back, now my question is why have they requested me to go to court ! why? i was doing 57 in a 30 on a bike but they caught me at 105 meters away and got me going away from the camera with just my back showing,
im a hgv driver a really should know better but if any bikers read this it is easyer said than done to keep at a low speed on a sports bike. is there anyway i can swing this or am i banged to rights?????
I think 57 in a 30 is more than just "easyer said than done to keep at a low speed on a sports bike".
I ride an R1 by the way so I do know what youre talking about.
I know that doesnt help your situation, but Im just telling it like it is.
You were caught at nearly twice the speed limit in a built-up area.
You will not be getting away with £60 and three points; at that speed, you are looking at at least 6 points or maybe a short ban.
For reference:
The starting point for 31 to 40 in a 30 limits is 3 points.
The starting point for 41 to 50 in a 30 limits is 4 to 6 points or a short ban - of 1 to 4 weeks.
The starting point for 51 to 60 in a 30 limits is a ban of 1 to 8 weeks or 6 points.

Yes tu should know better - if you can't control it; don't ride it.
