Written by John Kruse, one of the leading experts on Bailiff Law, this consumer friendly guide is essential reading for anyone who comes into contact with a bailiff.
The book is easy to understand and clearly explains the rights
a bailiff has, and also what they cannot do when collecting debts and repossessing goods etc.
Hi guys, In August 2001 I bought a used car. The dealer arranged finance and told me that PPI was compulsary. On attempting to reclaim the PPI I discovered that the finance company had gone bust. Also the car dealership has gone too. The PPI policy was from MOTORWAY DIRECT PLC and they have not acknowledged my letters.
Can I claim from them direct or is it just hard cheese for me as the dealer and finance company have both gone under?

Keep at them. Do not give way and do not accept all they tell you, they will delay and stall for as long as they can to prevent repaying you your mis-sold PPI.
You can go to the source of the PPI to reclaim back from them - don't know if you can get the interest you finance company would have applied, I would have thought you would only get the basic premium back but I might be wrong
I am a layperson and have no legal training but I do have an iota of common sense (sometimes)
