    Default Boonyed v Barclays **WON**

I sent a letter last week requesting a set of statements for two Barclaysicon accounts. I contacted the Customer relations dept. on 08457 555 555 today as I haven't heard anything as yet.

I spoke to a very nice young lady who arranged for the statements to be sent to me in the next 7 to 10 days. She was very helpful and although she didn't question my request, seemed a little surprised when I said I wanted paperwork for the last six years.....perhaps no one has told her what's going on yet!!!

Anyway here's hoping everything goes well and I'll keep you posted.

Got my first lot of statements today, they only cover one of my accounts which I opened in 2002. The total amount of referal fees is about £340, following a quick flick through, I'll have a closer look later, fill in the interesticon spreadsheet and get ready to hit them with the first letter.

    COME ON!!!

Got my second set of statements today and was quite surprised when I found that I'd only been charged £70 in total for the main account. But with £340 on the second account, plus interesticon, it's still worth claiming back.

I'll be sending my letter tomorrow.

My DPA letter, sent on 9th March to Barclaysicon, has now been answered and I received another set of statements today by registered post.

The letter accompanying them said that I could have a set of statements, but I would have to forward a cheque for £10 (two accounts) before they would send them........very strange!!!

Obviously, I wont be sending the payment again, but its obvious to me that they are under a bit of pressure and these letters are standard correspondance sent to appease the unruly mob.

Interestingly, I got 6 yearsicon worth of statements off Barclaysicon with no charge. They were the quickest of 6 requests I made.

Well its 14 days on Tuesday since my first letter was sent by registered post and I haven't heard a thing yet.

I'm about to get the second letter cut, pasted, altered and printed off ready to get it sent on Tuesday. I know its not as much as many people on here are claiming, but its my money not theirs, they took it from me illegally and I want it back!!!

    Good luck to everyone else.

What do you know, I telephoned the Wife at home today, just prior to sending my lbaicon, and she tells me that I have recieved a letter from Barclaysicon with an offer of £200.

That put me in a bit of a quandry as to whether or not I should accept. So I had a read through some of the posts on here and I've decided to stick to my guns and send the LBA anyway.

    I'll keep you posted.

As the 14 days before action timescale includes bank holidaysicon, could someone please offer some advice on whether or not i should add a couple of days to my deadline or should stick to the 25th April?

I would imagine that if this goes to court and I can show that I have been flexible with timescales and deadlines, they would look more favourably on my claim.

    Cool Re: Statements ordered!

    Hi Booyed,

It seems I am at the same stage as you are with my case... Gonna motivate my sister into action hopefully this weekend too!

When that letter arrives offering you less than half it does make you think shall I just accept... but hey, until this site highlighted the fact that I could claim my money back I was happy with nothing... so Im gonna go the whole way too!

Drafting the next letter after posting this...

They charge us interesticon at weekends and on bank holidaysicon, why should we suspend our action. You are entitled to calculate the 14 days as per the calendar - ignoring weekends and bank holidays.

Well, nothing came in the post this morning, so I have just filed a county courticon claim against Barclaysicon Bank for £499.07.

The process was quite simple though I did have to monkey around with the model text from the library section to get it to fit into the text box provided. The problem was that when I was filling in the claim form it prompted me to add a section of text if I wanted to claim the interesticon incurred, so I cut and pasted that into the box and went over the 1080 characters, or 24 lines, allowed.

When I trimmed it down, I was still taking up more lines than I should have so I had to go through it all and see where I could trim a little more. Not too onorous a task though, I'm sure the bunce will make up for the hassle.

Wish me luck, and if there are any out there who have got this far with Barclays please get in touch, I might need a little reassurance.

Me too… I’m experiencing problems with Moneyclain.gov.uk website while registering the particulars of my claim. WARNING: Claim Particulars: This information is required and must be no more than 24 lines or 1080 characters. The following characters cannot be used < > & "

I don't suppose you could help out by posting your wording to help me out as mine just keeps bouncing back and I don't know why? (XXX out your personal details)
